About me

Artie is a current DNC member serving on the Rules and Bylaws Committee and the Executive Committee at the Democratic National Committee representing Nevada. Artie’s political career began when she was a first-year college student working for Congressman Gene Green in Houston, Texas. She joined the DNC family in 2005 as the Southwest Political Director after working for NALEO, the Texas Legislature, and the DCCC. In response to Senator Reid’s call to action in 2009 to expand the Latino electorate, Artie moved to Nevada and ran a non-profit civic engagement organization to register, persuade, and increase Latino voters. The 2010 election drove Latino turnout to record levels. In 2012, the National AFL-CIO hired Artie as the Nevadan State Director, then Regional Campaigns Coordinator and in 2023, appointed her as the National Campaign Director for AFL-CIO.
